Good Morning Drayton Families.....
We will be cancelling school for the day today. Please stay warm and safe. No school today, December 19th, 2024.

❄️Mrs. Quimby's 8th graders began their Christmas sewing projects this week! Students made a decorative stocking & a set of mittens. 🧵

🎄FCCLA door decorating contest was a success! The winners are Mrs. Schumacher's Kindergarten, Ms. Grundstrom's 5th grade, & Mrs. Quimby's 9-12 Foods class! 🏆 Congratulations to all! Thank you to FCCLA for helping everyone to enjoy the holiday spirit! 🌟

📚🛒 PreK’s Grocery Store Adventure! 🛒📚
To wrap up our study on grocery stores, PreK took a field trip to 1878 Grocery Co.! The students got a behind-the-scenes tour to see how the store operates and even had a turn to be the cashier—what a fun experience!
Before the trip, our class created a grocery list together with ingredients to make guacamole after reading the book Guacamole. 🥑 At the store, the students used their list to shop for everything they needed.
Back at school, we worked as a team to prepare the guacamole and shared it with our Kindergarten friends. It was such a great hands-on way to bring our learning to life!
Thank you, 1878 Grocery Co., for hosting us and giving our students such a wonderful experience!

We are one of the two drop off sites for the Drayton BIOGirls baby drive! Please consider donating if you are able!

Mrs. Quimby is inquiring if any students from the 6th - 12th grades have an interest in joining an after school sewing club. Skills such as hand sewing, machine sewing, embroidery & cross stitch would be taught. Guests would be brought in to teach knitting, crocheting, and/or quilting. If there is an interest, the club would be one day a week on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 4:15/4:30, starting the 2nd semester.
Experienced or beginner, all are welcome!
Please email Mrs. Quimby at shelly.quimby@dps19.com or message at 701-317-1211

🎄🎅 Holiday Fun in the Kitchen! 🍪✨
Our school was filled with the sweet smell of Christmas cheer today as Mrs. Vold's Pre-K class teamed up with Mrs. Quimby's High School Foods class to decorate Christmas cookies!
The little ones brought their creativity, and the high school students helped make the magic happen. From frosting and sprinkles to smiles and laughter, it was a wonderful display of collaboration, mentorship, and holiday spirit. ❤️

Mr Lund

Our FACS teacher, Mrs. Quimby, is on a hunt for fabrics of any color, size, material, etc., to use in sewing projects with the kids. If anyone has stashes and would be open to donating to the FACS room, we would be greatly appreciative. We'll also take whatever sewing materials (threads, bobbins, supplies, etc,) update & replace our stocks. Thank you so much!!
