Hunter Pinke will be visiting Drayton Public School on Thursday, January 8, 2026, to share his story about gratefulness and overcoming adversity. He will speak to students in grades PK-6 at 8:45 am and 7-12 at 10:00 am. The public is invited to attend either session if they'd like. Thank you to the Drayton Curling Club for providing the funding for this opportunity!

The After-School Cooking Club would like to thank the Drayton Community Grant for the fabulous new dishwasher, two folding wagons for moving Cooking Club and FCS/FCCLA items, and assistance with purchasing groceries for the Cooking Club & for FCS. We cannot thank the Drayton Community Grant board enough for their financial aid and support for our students and school!

Today our K-6 students watched The Grinch, ate mini s'mores, had hot cocoa then had extra recess to celebrate their academic improvements so far this year. Go Bombers! Keep SOARing!!

This morning, our elementary principal read a story to the entire school—to add to the fun, we turned it into a full production! 🎭🍪 Our teachers were great sports and jumped right in to act out The Gingerbread Kid Goes to School. We had: 👑 1 super principal 🏀 2 gym coaches 🍎 3 lunch ladies 📚 4 teachers 🧠 1 smart boy 🐶 1 dog 🍪 and of course… the Gingerbread Kid! Lots of laughs, big smiles, and a whole lot of school spirit. What a fun way to kick off the last two days before Christmas! ❤️🎄

Any parents/guardians that would like to pick up their student(s) early from school today are free to do so. Please notify the office if you decide to pick up your student(s) early. Thank you.

The boys and girls basketball games in Park River for this evening have been postponed. There will be no practices tonight.

Due to weather and poor road conditions, school and buses will be 2 hours late tomorrow, Friday, December 19th. The PreK through 4th grade concert will be tomorrow at 2:00 PM. The afternoon movie celebration will be moved to Monday afternoon.

🎄 DPS Holiday Dress Up Days! 🎄 Elementary students can wear what they’d like to school tomorrow for the concert; dress clothes or ugly sweaters are parent’s choice. If students wear dress clothes and bring a change of clothes for after the concert that is allowable, as well! Thank you to our students and families for being flexible with the changes that a snow day brings! ❄️

Due to the Blizzard Warning in effect until Thursday night, there will be NO SCHOOL or activities Thursday, December 18th at Drayton Public School. The PreK through 4th grade concert will be rescheduled to Friday morning at 9:00. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Congratulations to all of our K-6 students for increasing their STAR scores or meeting and exceeding proficiency. We are SO proud of our SOARing students that we are celebrating with a movie party in the gym on Friday, December 19. Students can bring sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, and/or stuffies to be comfortable for our celebration. The PTO is graciously donating hot cocoa and snacks for our movie as well. Thanks PTO and congratulations students on a job well done! Keep up the great work!

ASP COOKING CLASS

If your student attends cooking class on Thursdays, they are welcome to participate on Tuesday, Dec 16th. Kids will be frosting & decorating cupcakes for Christmas!! Thursday's class will be a small snack & discussion on Christmas foods from around the world. There will not be cooking class next week,

We have 3 Christmas sprays left to find a home. They are priced at $28 each. If interested, they can be picked up from the school, or they can be delivered.
