September is Great Plains Food Bank Truck Delivery! The truck will be here on Sept. 4th & we will begin intake at 3:45 at the front of the school as before. Items on the list are apples, peaches, potatoes, beef, and the dry goods box. We look forward to seeing everyone!

📚✨ It’s been a busy and exciting start to the school year here at Drayton!

✅ Our FFA members hit the ground running, visiting local businesses and asking for sponsorships to support their upcoming events.
✅ Our Ag, Power & Technology (APT) students jumped right into hands-on problem solving activities.
🤖 And to top it off, we had a surprise guest visit who gave students an inside look at the precision and possibilities of robotics!

International Cultural Exchange Services (ICES) is looking for school-year home placements for just under 200 students from around the world. Temporary placement homes are also being sought for 2 to 10 weeks until students are placed. There are many who are looking for family placements on farms or with horses.

Hello from the FACS room! We are looking for anyone who grew dill over the summer and has a little extra they could spare for a pickling project. Mr Riddle loaded us up with some pickling cucumbers, and we want to use them to experiment with flavors and learn to water-bath can. Thank you, everyone, for your support and donations! It really helps the kids with their learning projects.

Come join the school newspaper!! The goal is to get the school newspaper back up and running. Don't worry, though! We will still be submitting pieces to the Valley News!
Grades 7 - 12 accepted. A sign-up will be in the office starting tomorrow. It's a great extracurricular that looks fantastic on school transcripts. We'll need writers, photographers, paper layout, and proofreaders/editors! If curious, but want more information, stop by and see Mrs. Quimby in the FACS room.

Seal!ND is a service offered to all DPS students in grades pre-K through 12. This service is available through the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services. Seal!ND offers free oral health screenings, sealant application, and fluoride varnish application for students whose parents complete and return the consent form. Forms are being sent home this week and must be returned by Friday, August 29, 2025. If your student is not participating in this program, please check "no" on the consent form or simply do not return the form to school.🦷 🪥

Hello! Hard to believe school starts next week! Wow! Also returning is 4-H! Our first scheduled date is Aug 14th @ 7 pm in the FCS room. 4-H is open to ages 5-18, and for junior & high school, the skills & activities are aligned with Ag Ed & FCSE (FFA & FCCLA). 📣 An update on the After School Program 📣 At this time, Drayton Public School is working to ensure the availability of our after school program. Due to the uncertainty of funding and the delayed notification of our possible grant award, we will not be able to start ASP right away when school starts. If we are able to make an after school program work, we will start on Tuesday, September 2nd. Once we receive notification from the state, we will let everyone in the school community know what our plans for ASP will be. We apologize for any inconvenience this creates. Here’s what the first few weeks of practice will look like:

📍 Week 1 (Aug 4th–8th):
🕤 Practice at 9:30 AM, Monday–Thursday
📍 First practice will be held at the football field

📍 Weeks 2 & 3:
🕞 Practice moves to 3:30 PM at the golf course every day

⚠️ Reminder:
All concussion forms, physicals, and athletic fees must be completed and turned in before you can practice.
