Great Kindness Challenge Donation Drive - Drayton Public School will be holding a donation drive for the Northlands Rescue Mission. There are specific items requested on the list below. This event is teaching our students how to help others through kindness!

Drayton Public School will be celebrating the Great Kindness Challenge next week. Students will be participating in activities each day, and they will have a checklist of kind acts that they will be attempting to complete. Please support our students in their kindness endeavors!

🤖🌱 Robotics in Agriculture! 🌱🤖 Mr. Riddle’s 8th grade class is learning about robotics and coding in agriculture by using Edison bots! Students are writing code, testing commands, and discovering how automation and technology are shaping modern farming. Hands-on learning today—innovators of agriculture tomorrow! 🚜💻

🚧 Hands-On Learning in APT! 🚧 Mr. Riddle’s APT class explored why bridge strength matters and how proper design keeps vehicles safe and supported. Students tested structures, analyzed loads, and saw firsthand how engineering choices impact real-world transportation. Learning by doing—and building skills that last! 💪🛠️

📚 December Students of the Month 📚 The Drayton Education Association would like to announce the December DEA Students of the Month. The following students were nominated by Drayton Public School faculty and staff and voted upon by the Drayton Education Association to recognize them for their academic achievements, citizenship, setting a good example, and overall character. The December DEA Students of the Month are as follows: High School- Zach Swanson, Sophomore: Zach is polite and kind to everyone, both adults and his peers. He is a tremendous learner and is always looking to challenge himself. He is even looking to take online computer programming courses independently. Zach is a great example of striving for excellence. Elementary- Eli Alanis, 2nd Grade: Elis is always SOARing in the halls, at lunch, and at recess. He looks out for others and will get a teacher to help out if needed. Eli is a good friend to his classmates and those around him. Eli is a wonderful example of kindness.

The November DEA Students of the Month are as follows: High School- Austin Hoselton, Sophomore: Austin is a hard worker in class, even working ahead at times when he feels able to. He shows a desire to be a successful student and is motivated to do well. Austin is always willing to help those around him when he can. Austin is an excellent example of dedication. Elementary- Calvin Helm, Pre-K: Calvin is nice to others and always uses kind words to those around him. He can both be independent and get along with others, too. Calvin is good at staying on task and getting things done. He always has a smile on his face. Calvin is a great example of caring.

Our 8th grade students have been hard at work learning about robots and their importance in agriculture. From designing their own robots to writing and applying commands, students are gaining hands-on experience with problem-solving, teamwork, and technology. It’s been exciting to see their creativity and engagement as they explore how robotics can improve efficiency and innovation in modern agriculture!

We recently started a SchoolStore program to help our school raise money. A lanyard with information explaining how the program works has been sent home with students. Students will earn a participation prize when they return the filled-out lanyard to school, and they can earn more great prizes when your family and friends help our school raise money. So don't forget to send the filled-out lanyard back to school, and thanks for your support.

🍿 The Drayton Prom Committee is thrilled to host their first-ever Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser this Tuesday through Friday! 🍿 This is a delicious way to support our students—50% of all profits go directly back to the prom committee, helping make this year’s prom a memorable experience for our Bombers. The fundraiser is completely online so grab a link from a prom committee member or one of the students pictured! Thank you for supporting our students, their hard work, and their dedication to giving back while learning valuable leadership and fundraising skills. Attention All Parents!
NDSU Extension is offering a free book study to all area parents and caregivers! Participants will receive a free copy of The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt at the first session. We will meet for four weeks to discuss why what’s on the screen matters more than the minutes spent, how technology can lead to a rise in anxiety and depression, and how to connect with your kids at any age.
We will meet Tuesdays starting Feb. 10th, 7pm at the Cavalier Public Library. Pre-registration is preferred, but walk-ins welcome! Register at bit.ly/CavAnxGen

ASP Cooking Club Update!
The kids were busy in the kitchen on Thursday, baking cookies! There was peanut butter, sugar, and oatmeal-chocolate chip, and the room smelled like heaven! They also got to see the new dishwasher purchased with the grant money from the Drayton Area Community Foundation.

Since there are fewer kids, we will be meeting on Thursdays only, or at least until numbers go back up. By the way, did you know you no longer have to pay a quarterly fee?? It's ALL paid for! Again, we need to thank the DACF for funding allowing more kids to participate!
