🌟January is School Board Appreciation Month! 🌟
Drayton Public School proudly recognizes and thanks our dedicated school board members for their service, leadership, and commitment to our students, staff, and community. Members are pictured from left to right: Michael Emanuelson, Mark Hatloy, Jessica Hermanson, Reid Christenson, and Randy Corrick.
Serving on a school board requires countless hours of thoughtful decision-making, careful stewardship of resources, and a deep commitment to the success and well-being of every student. Our board members lend their expertise and time to work collaboratively ensuring Drayton Public School continues to provide a strong, supportive, and high-quality educational experience.
We are grateful for their steady leadership, vision for the future, and willingness to serve our school district with integrity and care. Thank you, Michael, Mark, Jessica, Reid & Randy, for all you do—your dedication truly makes a difference!
Our youngest learners gave their input about what they think our school board members do! Enjoy their responses! 💕

Join us in supporting our Titan Basketball and Spoiler Wrestling teams the week of January 19-23!

The ND Department of Health and Human Services Seal!ND spring dental visit will occur on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. This follow-up visit applies only to students who have a "yes" consent on file for Seal!ND services. If you have any questions, please call the school! 🦷 🪥

Our 8th grade students have been hard at work learning about robots and their importance in agriculture. From designing their own robots to writing and applying commands, students are gaining hands-on experience with problem-solving, teamwork, and technology. It’s been exciting to see their creativity and engagement as they explore how robotics can improve efficiency and innovation in modern agriculture!

We recently started a SchoolStore program to help our school raise money. A lanyard with information explaining how the program works has been sent home with students. Students will earn a participation prize when they return the filled-out lanyard to school, and they can earn more great prizes when your family and friends help our school raise money. So don't forget to send the filled-out lanyard back to school, and thanks for your support.

🍿 The Drayton Prom Committee is thrilled to host their first-ever Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser this Tuesday through Friday! 🍿
This is a delicious way to support our students—50% of all profits go directly back to the prom committee, helping make this year’s prom a memorable experience for our Bombers. The fundraiser is completely online so grab a link from a prom committee member or one of the students pictured!
Thank you for supporting our students, their hard work, and their dedication to giving back while learning valuable leadership and fundraising skills. Be sure to grab some popcorn and help us make this fundraiser a success! ❤️🖤

Attention All Parents!
NDSU Extension is offering a free book study to all area parents and caregivers! Participants will receive a free copy of The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt at the first session. We will meet for four weeks to discuss why what’s on the screen matters more than the minutes spent, how technology can lead to a rise in anxiety and depression, and how to connect with your kids at any age.
We will meet Tuesdays starting Feb. 10th, 7pm at the Cavalier Public Library. Pre-registration is preferred, but walk-ins welcome! Register at bit.ly/CavAnxGen

ASP Cooking Club Update!
The kids were busy in the kitchen on Thursday, baking cookies! There was peanut butter, sugar, and oatmeal-chocolate chip, and the room smelled like heaven! They also got to see the new dishwasher purchased with the grant money from the Drayton Area Community Foundation.
Since there are fewer kids, we will be meeting on Thursdays only, or at least until numbers go back up. By the way, did you know you no longer have to pay a quarterly fee?? It's ALL paid for! Again, we need to thank the DACF for funding allowing more kids to participate!

Hunter Pinke will be visiting Drayton Public School on Thursday, January 8, 2026, to share his story about gratefulness and overcoming adversity. He will speak to students in grades PK-6 at 8:45 am and 7-12 at 10:00 am. The public is invited to attend either session if they'd like. Thank you to the Drayton Curling Club for providing the funding for this opportunity!

The After-School Cooking Club would like to thank the Drayton Community Grant for the fabulous new dishwasher, two folding wagons for moving Cooking Club and FCS/FCCLA items, and assistance with purchasing groceries for the Cooking Club & for FCS. We cannot thank the Drayton Community Grant board enough for their financial aid and support for our students and school!

Today our K-6 students watched The Grinch, ate mini s'mores, had hot cocoa then had extra recess to celebrate their academic improvements so far this year. Go Bombers! Keep SOARing!!

This morning, our elementary principal read a story to the entire school—to add to the fun, we turned it into a full production! 🎭🍪
Our teachers were great sports and jumped right in to act out The Gingerbread Kid Goes to School.
We had:
👑 1 super principal
🏀 2 gym coaches
🍎 3 lunch ladies
📚 4 teachers
🧠 1 smart boy
🐶 1 dog
🍪 and of course… the Gingerbread Kid!
Lots of laughs, big smiles, and a whole lot of school spirit. What a fun way to kick off the last two days before Christmas! ❤️🎄

Any parents/guardians that would like to pick up their student(s) early from school today are free to do so. Please notify the office if you decide to pick up your student(s) early. Thank you.
The boys and girls basketball games in Park River for this evening have been postponed. There will be no practices tonight.
Here is the link to the live stream of our Elementary Christmas concert. It will begin at 2pm:
https://fan.hudl.com/usa/nd/crystal-drayton-edinburg/organization/38894/draytonvalley-edinb-high-school/watch?ib=3372368
Due to weather and poor road conditions, school and buses will be 2 hours late tomorrow, Friday, December 19th. The PreK through 4th grade concert will be tomorrow at 2:00 PM. The afternoon movie celebration will be moved to Monday afternoon.
🎄 DPS Holiday Dress Up Days! 🎄
Elementary students can wear what they’d like to school tomorrow for the concert; dress clothes or ugly sweaters are parent’s choice. If students wear dress clothes and bring a change of clothes for after the concert that is allowable, as well!
Thank you to our students and families for being flexible with the changes that a snow day brings! ❄️
