Sewing Club Student Members!!!
The task is to create and sew a pouch for the office's ice packs. The prototype pouch must be easy & quick to make and utilize a velcro closure. The frozen ice packs must fit, requiring a little extra room but no oversizing. The pouches must be washable. Ideas for materials would be: terry cloth (like towel material), flannel or brushed flannel, nylon, or polyester. The velcro must fit the pouch without being too large or too small, and must be sewn on. I have a frozen ice pack handy for measurement purposes.
The prize for the pouch is a $25 gift card to Hobby Lobby or Walmart (winner's choice). The deadline is March 26th! The winner gets their picture in the paper and school newsletter!

Hunter's Safety education classes begin on Tuesday, March 4th at 6:00 pm at the Drayton Public School. Please enter using the north door on the side of school facing east (high school entrance). Class will be located in the first classroom on the right. Thank you!

Our Drayton wrestlers had an exceptional weekend at the 2025 Girls' State Tournament! Alyssa, entering as the 6th seed, battled hard and secured an impressive 7th place finish. Violet, also seeded 6th, pushed through to claim an outstanding 5th place finish. We couldn't be prouder of their determination, hard work, and dedication throughout the tournament. What a remarkable achievement! Alyssa wrapped up the season with a 39-12 record, while Violet finished at 31-18. Way to go, girls!

Reminder:
There is no school tomorrow, Friday (Feb. 21, 2025)

Drayton Bomber Speech competed in their first meet of the season on Saturday, February 15 in Park River. Due to illness and other activities, the team had one competitor at the tournament. Standing proud, junior Stephanie Kissee earned a 6th place finish in Speech-to-Persuade and also finished well in the category of Humorous Interpretation. The next scheduled tournament will be on Saturday, February 22, in Northwood.

The Drayton Bomber Speech team is excited to announce they will be hosting a tournament to be held at the school on Saturday, March 8. The team is currently looking for any volunteers willing to make or bring food items for the judges' room (ex. bars, buns, chips, water/soda, etc.) or anyone willing to lend a hand. Please contact Mrs. Rarick ( jamie.rarick@dps19.com ) if you would like to help. Thank you for your support and help to make this tournament a success!

Today, we tip our hats to the man, the myth, the Ag legend—Mr. Riddle! 🤠👏 He works hard to make Ag education hands-on, engaging, and fun. So, if you see him today, give him a high five, a cup of coffee, or maybe just a moment of silence for all the times he’s had to say, “That’s not how you hold a chicken.” 🐓Thanks for all you do, Mr. Riddle! FFA wouldn’t be the same without you! 💙💛 #FFAWeek #AgTeacherAppreciationDay #RiddleMeThis

Drayton Sewing Club next meets on Feb. 26th at 6:30 p.m. in the FACS room. Share the news!

🩷Our high school foods class made Valentine’s Day extra special for our Pre-K students last week! The older students partnered with our littlest learners to decorate heart-shaped cookies, adding plenty of sprinkles, frosting, and love.
The Pre-K students had a blast creating their sweet treats to take home and sharing smiles with their big-kid buddies!🩷
